Student Policies, Complaints, and Your Rights
UNE Partnerships is committed to a fair, safe, and transparent learning environment. As a student, you have clearly defined rights and responsibilities, and we have formal processes to handle any concerns, complaints, or appeals that may arise during your studies.
Where can I find the student policies?
All student policies and procedures are published on our website at unep.edu.au/students/policies. Key policies include:
- Enrolment and admission policy
- Assessment policy
- Complaints and appeals policy
- Access, equity, and inclusion policy
- Privacy policy
- Fee and refund policy
What are my rights as a student?
- To be treated with respect and dignity by all UNE Partnerships staff
- To study in a safe and supportive learning environment
- To receive clear information about your course, assessments, and fees before enrolment
- To have your personal information kept private and secure
- To appeal assessment decisions you believe are unfair
- To make a complaint without fear of disadvantage
How do I raise a complaint?
If you have a concern about any aspect of your study experience, we encourage you to raise it as early as possible. The process is:
Step 1 — Speak directly with your trainer or the Student Services team. Many issues can be resolved quickly and informally.
Step 2 — If not resolved, submit a formal complaint in writing to ask@unep.edu.au. We will acknowledge your complaint within two business days and work to resolve it within 30 calendar days.
Step 3 — If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you have the right to escalate your complaint to an external body such as ASQA (the Australian Skills Quality Authority).
Assessment appeals
If you believe an assessment decision is incorrect or unfair, you can request a review. Your first step is to speak with your trainer. If you remain unsatisfied, you can submit a formal assessment appeal in writing. Full details are available in the Assessment Appeals Policy on our website.
We take all complaints seriously and are committed to continuous improvement. Your feedback helps us deliver better outcomes for all students.
